1,800 yen (tax included) 180ml/masu

“Ise Hikari” originated from two stalks that survived a typhoon that knocked down koshihikari rice cultivated in the Kanda rice fields of Ise Shrine in 1989. The Yamaguchi Prefectural Agricultural Experiment Station conducted research on it at the request of the Shrine Agency, and it continues to be cultivated in Yamaguchi Prefecture today. Known as divine rice, “Ise Hikari” is tastier than koshihikari, has thick stems that make it less likely to fall over, and is resistant to disease, which is why it is also called “the phantom rice.” It is a pure rice daiginjo that is brewed once a year and has a gentle texture and an addictive lingering flavor of the original rice.

Toyo Otokoyama Junmai Genshu [Limited Edition to celebrate the revival] Suo-Oshima/Kawamura Brewery

800 yen (tax included) 120ml/glass

■ Rice polishing ratio: 60%

The only sake brewery in Suo-Oshima, which has been in business for 140 years, will restart in 2025 after 15 years of dormancy. To celebrate the revival, the brewery will begin selling its representative brand, “Toyo Otokoyama.” As it is made from raw sake without adding water, it has a high alcohol content and is a satisfying drink.
[Comment from the person in charge]
There used to be more than 30 sake breweries on the island, but as times have changed, Kawamura Sake Brewery is the last remaining one. To support the revival of the brewery, we would like as many people as possible to enjoy our revival celebration sake.
*We also sell takeaway bottles while supplies last, so please ask a staff member if you would like one.
