The Chestnut Butterfly is the only migratory butterfly that flies across the sea and can be encountered in Japan. It can often be seen flying about in October. At the Chestnut Butterfly Garden at the former Isokane residence, which overlooks the Seto Inland Sea, approximately 1,000 Eupatorium fleabane plants, a favorite of the Chestnut Butterfly, are planted, attracting the migrating butterflies.
*The arrival of the Chestnut Butterflies usually begins from early to mid-October, but the timing varies depending on weather conditions.
